People Nominations

Please use the people nomination form to nominate an individual person making exceptional contributions to the practice of dual-use solar development for the inaugural North American Agrivoltaics Awards (NAAA), to be awarded live on stage during a limited-ticket awards ceremony and reception during the 2024 Solar Farm Summit this summer in Chicago.

Nominees can be anyone engaged in any agrivoltaics or ecovoltaics activity, but their individual nominations will be weighed against the body of their completed work(s). Nominees will also be considered for contributions beyond their individual achievements (e.g. creating wider impact, inspiring others, catalyzing action, et al.) and should exemplify professional excellence in their efforts to pair agricultural production, ecosystem services, and solar energy in symbiosis; advancing the field by virtue of their example.

Candidates' nominated work must be located in North America to be considered, which includes Central America and Caribbean nations. And all works in the Pacific islands on lands and in territories in political comity with North American countries are also eligible for consideration.

Nominees' completed works need not be completed in the year of the awards or the year prior. Any previously built and/or operated project, manufactured product, published paper, passed legislation, public action or other work product, including not-for-profit and/or for-profit leadership/achievement, may be considered. And the body of a person's relevant work may also be considered, which may be researched and referenced separately in the committee's evaluation.

Following open nominations, the committee will collect, evaluate and select a group of finalists in each category. These finalists will be announced publicly and an open vote will begin. When the voting period concludes, the final tally will be computed with votes from each committee member to select the winners. In the event of a tie, the public vote will decide winners.

Anyone may make a nomination of anyone else, or themselves. And anyone may submit multiple nominations.

Please fill out all the info below with as much relevant detail necessary to make your case. Everything you include will be considered, and your written narrative has the opportunity to make the largest impact, but it is not necessary to write everything into words. We encourage you to speak from the heart, but do keep in mind that brevity is the heart of wit. Your narrative or a portion thereof may be used during the campaign, in print or on stage, but please also note that is not an essay contest, in the interests of your time and ours.

Citations, links, and other references are most welcome, which will bolster your narrative and greatly aid the committee's own independent evaluation.

Accepting Nominations: January 1, 2024 - April 19, 2024
Committee Review and Selection: April 20-30, 2024

Open Vote: May 1 - June 21, 2024
