Recognizing outstanding achievements and excellence of built and operating projects advancing dual-use solar development.
Recognizing outstanding achievements and excellence in solar farming.
The Solar Farm of the Year Award recognizes an agrivoltaics project achieving exceptional advancements in growing vegetables, fruits, grains and other crops in agrivoltaic systems in the field. This singular award celebrates a solar farm that has gone beyond the successful adoption of agrivoltaics, inspiring broader impact and contributing exemplary best practices to the working knowledge of solar farming.
Recognizing outstanding achievements and excellence in solar ranching.
The Solar Ranch of the Year Award recognizes an agrivoltaics project making extraordinary progress pairing livestock grazing with solar power generation. This singular award celebrates a solar ranch that has gone beyond the incorporation of livestock, inspiring broader impact and contributing exemplary best practices to the working knowledge of agrivoltaic systems harnessing both solar power and animal power.
Recognizing outstanding achievements and excellence in ecovoltaics.
The Solar Ecosystem of the Year Award recognizes an ecovoltaics project making exceptional strides synergizing solar energy and ecosystem services. This singular award celebrates a dual-use project that not only successfully combines solar power generation with environmental conservation and ecological function, but establishes new benchmarks for the integration of beneficial vegetation, wildlife and ecosystem services into solar energy systems.
Please use the project nomination form to nominate a constructed and operating project manifesting new principles and/or best practices of dual-use solar development as built for the inaugural North American Agrivoltaics Awards (NAAA), to be awarded live on stage during a limited-ticket awards ceremony and reception during the 2024 Solar Farm Summit this summer in Chicago.
Nominated projects can take any form or focus on any function(s) within the basket of agrivoltaics or ecovoltaics benefits, but each individual project will be evaluated on a comprehensive basis that considers the totality of its achievements, performance, and outputs. Beyond its individual excellence achieving mutually beneficial symbiosis between agricultural production and/or ecosystem services and solar energy together, each nominated project will also be considered for its impact on the local community, the environment, the economy, and the working knowledge powering the dual-use development renaissance.
Nominated projects must be located in North America to be considered, which includes Central America and Caribbean nations. And all works in the Pacific islands on lands and in territories in political comity with North American countries are also eligible for consideration.
Any previously built and operating dual-use solar project qualifies for consideration. For the inaugural NAAA, nominated projects need not be completed in the year of the awards or the year prior.
Following open nominations, the committee will collect, evaluate and select a group of finalists in each category. These finalists will be announced publicly and an open vote will begin. When the voting period concludes, the final tally will be computed with votes from each committee member to select the winners. In the event of a tie, the public vote will decide winners.
Anyone may make a nomination of any project, or their own project. And anyone may submit multiple nominations.
Please fill out all the info below with as much relevant detail necessary to make your case. Everything you include will be considered, and your written narrative has the opportunity to make the largest impact, but it is not necessary to write everything into words. We encourage you to speak from the heart, but do keep in mind that brevity is the heart of wit. Your narrative or a portion thereof may be used during the campaign, in print or on stage, but please also note that is not an essay contest, in the interests of your time and ours.
Citations, links, and other references are most welcome, which will bolster your narrative and greatly aid the committee's own independent evaluation.
